The Full Moon and the Inferior conjunction of the Sun and Mercury on 04/28/2010 both help set the stage for the coming weeks while at the same time bringing a partial relief of the recent strain. The Full Moon is a time where the stimuli that have been building up get triggered and give. It’s a time of either reaping the rewards of good work or realizing that the work was not done properly and would need to be re-done. Given the Sun in the 12th house for the Washington, DC chart and the Moon in the 6th house and that this occurs directly on the heels of the Saturn and Uranus opposition things may not be as apparent as you may wish they were. We are still in the midst of the Mercury retrograde, and even though the conjunction of the Sun and Mercury indicates that things may be opening up it’s still slow going. Now is kind of a lull after the storm, though you can still feel the next storm coming. The Sun meets Mercury chart which brings the Mercury retrograde cycle to another phase has Mars rising in Leo, square to the Sun and Mercury conjunct the Midheaven. This indicates that energy is high, that it can be interpreted as an irritation or a stimulus to action. Tempers and trouble may flair! The Sun squares Mars on 05/04/2010 with Mars in the 2nd house (representing self worth and values) and the Sun in the 11th house (representing friends and group activities). In this chart Pluto is on the 7th house cusp, the house of Marriage, partnerships, and open enemies. The recent relationship activity is once again reflected in these symbols and the feeling of extreme change is afoot. The feeling that some relationships (both with others and within ourselves) are no longer working is getting even stronger. As we are in an analysis phase with a strong Mars the desire to act is great but this is still a time for review not implementation. Do you feel the energy but at the same time feel like things are not going forward? Did you act earlier and now you’re seeing the daylight at the end of the tunnel? Mercury goes direct on 05/11/2010 and at that point you will start to see things move along better. On 05/02/2010 Saturn will inconjunct Neptune which is an aspect that reflects the need to integrate two differing energies. Saturn wants to take the bull by the horns and go forward but Neptune is making you nervous, unsure. To resolve this conflict it’s not like an opposition where you need to balance each other, it’s more where neither can get its way, where a compromise that both can agree upon is the way to go. In a nutshell? Continue to grow and achieve but don’t let the confusion force you to act prematurely. This is a time to continue to review with a ruthless eye your self, your values, what you think and know yourself to be, and how this interrelates with those in your life. The continued theme of getting rid of what’s not working is paramount but the caution is to not jump the gun. If you haven’t acted yet it’s because you don’t have all the information you need yet. Mercury the messenger is still gathering data, its having a pow-wow with the Sun right now, but more as a checkpoint than an action plan. Put your plan together with an eye towards mid May. On 05/11/2010 Mercury will go direct and on 05/13/2010 will be a New Moon in Taurus. This will be a time to put your practical ideas into motion. By this time they should be well formed and reviewed. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself acting as you never thought you could because you will see that you are actually a new you. You may not have realized it, or when it has occurred, but if you look close you will see that you have crossed over that line and wont be going back. Details: Click on the aspect to view the chart. Venus is once again trying to take the spotlight from the outer planets. Beginning 04/24/2010, within 24 hours, Venus will square Neptune, sextile Uranus, and trine Saturn. The next day Venus will change signs to Gemini. In each of these charts Venus is in a mutable house or sign. Change, Change, Change! The trine to Saturn makes it easier to see and accept the correct path for you. The sextile to Uranus makes or shows the opportunities for change while the square to Neptune makes it all scary and confusing. That however shouldn’t stop you. Now is a time where you can more clearly analyze (Saturn in Virgo) and integrate. Venus then goes into Gemini, a mutable, changeable sign on 04/25/2010. This chart has Venus still in the 5th house, similar to the previous few days Venus aspects. Venus wants Romance big time but Mars in Leo in the 7th house is giving it grief. With the Moon opposite Jupiter and Uranus, the heart realizes it’s a time for change. The actions of others, Mars, are not compatible to our romantic vision. We want energy, not indigestion! The umbrella over all of this is the Sun trine Pluto on 04/25/2010 and Saturn opposite Uranus on 04/26/2010. Based on the symbols alone, the Sun (You) trine (easy to) Pluto (change) helps Saturn (Mature, considered action) opposite (balancing) Uranus (the desire to change or ignore). Whether it’s a relationship, your self worth, your values or all that is at issue this is where it is all directed. The Sun trine Pluto chart has the Moon opposite Saturn in Virgo in the 3rd house. This is a time to review things, to write it all down. This will help you review and clarify. If tempted to send it, with Mars in the Leo on the ascendant sextile the Moon in the 3rd house, expect a fight. Mercury retrograde advises to sit on it and reflect more. Finally, there is Saturn opposite Pluto. Saturn and Pluto are both retrograde, a further indication of an analysis rather than action time. As this is the 4th of 5 Saturn/Uranus oppositions begun on Election Day, November 2008, this one is a continued setting up of the house of cards which will complete on 07/26/2010. The current opposition is a very telling chart. The Sun (You, the ruler, the Nation) is in the 7th house, (relationships and open enemies). The Moon (Emotions, the public) in Libra (seeking balance, justice) is on the Ascendant (in the forefront). Uranus (Change) and Jupiter (an emphasis of what ever it aspects in addition to a drive toward truth) are in the 6th house (health, jobs). Jupiter (power, luck) is trine (works well with) the Midheaven (the most powerful spot overhead). Saturn (Government) is in the 12th house (hidden things). Venus (relationships, peace) is in the 8th house (Other people’s assets, values, banks). Pluto (rebirth) trine (easy to do) Mercury (communications) helps to change the message. In a nutshell? The heart, the people will speak. We/They want a balance of power and resources. Work, jobs, and health care are of primary concern and are clearly reflected. Our communal and personal values and assets are in a state of simultaneous reality and confusion. These are earthshaking times as you may have noticed. The rebellions are forming both internally and externally. As these events continue they will culminate over the coming summer aspects if they make it that long. As always, watch the Full Moon on 04/28/2010 as a trigger. Details: Click on the aspect to view the chart. Venus Square Neptune on 04/23/2010 at 3:55P EDT. The Sun enters Taurus on 04/20/2010. While Taurus is a fixed earth sign there is a lot of change reflected in this chart. With Venus and Mercury also in Taurus there is a lot of Earth energy. At the same time Mars is in Leo in the 8th house squaring the Sun and Mercury closely and Venus by sign. This may express itself as frustration because you see the change, feel the need for the change, can even partly agree to the change, but it isn’t happening yet. The change feels stagnant, but that’s good in a way. Now is an analysis phase, not an action phase. A time to plan, figure things out fully without rushing into action. The desire to act out is strong, be careful as it will probably not work out to your advantage if you do. Expect arguing and miscommunication. One end result of this review should be the realization that the way we communicate is part of what needs to change. Emotionally the Moon in Cancer, a water sign and the sign the Moon rules, in the 7th house (others) opposite Pluto in the 1st house (self) shows that the heart has been watching and is ready for a resolution too. It’s becoming convinced. The heart is ready to follow. Has the knife that cut you also cut the connection? This may seem pessimistic but the whole symbolism of Pluto is rebirth. Something has to die for something to be reborn! Embrace the energy! Like it or not it is there to deal with as we will. Will you direct your symbolism to your benefit? Will you finally deal with your issues at hand or attempt to sublimate them once again? Neither choice is easy but one will progress you forward and one won’t work anymore. The coming week brings more Venus activity as it will square Neptune, sextile Uranus, and trine Saturn all within 24 hours. You will have lots to think about. In a Nutshell? These are do or die times and they have only just begun. If you think, “Not Me!”, then it just hasn’t found you yet. The outer planets work directly on some individuals while at the same time working on the masses in general. If it does not get you directly, you will be affected by it through others. As Pluto entered into Capricorn the markets tumbled. You may not have lost anything directly, but its effects have found you one way or another. What are we to do about this? There is a deep need for changes but Taurus is fixed, it doesn’t like to change. In this case use the Taurus Earth energy. Uranus, emphasized by Jupiter, both in Pisces are screaming change! Let the water flow through the earth and the earth will nourish from the change, catching what it needs and passing the rest on. Details: Click on the aspect to view the chart. Can you feel it coming? With the entry of the Sun into Aries recently we have begun the new Astrological year. Aries represents new beginnings, the starting point of the journey. The New Moon in Aries on 04/14/2010 is the first new moon of the cycle. The new moon represents the beginning of the Lunar cycle and in Aries it represents the beginning of the beginning. It is a time when new things are brought forth fresh and clear of the past. It is a time for initiating that which needs to be. The house that the new moon is in indicates the area of your life where these issues will manifest. The ruler of Aries is Mars which is in Leo in the 3rd house for Washington, DC. The 3rd house is ruled by Cancer in this chart which is ruled by the Moon. With the Moon in Aries then, it means that Mars is ruled by the Moon and the Moon is ruled by Mars. Together they are in what is called a mutual reception, they are co-rulers of the New Moon. Mars represents the Sun’s actions and the Moon represents the Sun’s emotions. “Emotional reactions” and actions can be the theme if we don’t watch out. Conversely with the proper restraint and usage we can channel the energy as a “directed action of our emotions”. Can you see the difference? The new moon is at 24ARIES27 in the 11th House/12 House cusp. This brings a focus on groups, friends and that which we are hiding from ourselves/others. This is most relevant as we are very near the 4th of 5 oppositions of Saturn and Uranus which occurs on 04/26/2010. The first was on Election Day November, 2008 and this will be the 4th with the 5th and final on 07/26/2010. The Saturn/Uranus cycle represents that which we do not want to face and own up to directly (Saturn) and the need to sublimate or hide it (Uranus). Saturn pushes what it wants to avoid into Uranus’ realm and Uranus pushes back to Saturn and says, deal with it. In the opposition we seek a balance between these two natural forces. Ideally that which we have been trying to avoid surfaces, we deal with it, and the resolution carries us forward. In other words, we face our fears, hurts, etc. This opposition occurs for the last time with both planets in mutable signs(Virgo/Pisces). The final opposition occurs back in the Cardinal signs (Aries/Libra). The energy to change and adapt is easier now. The final opposition will be like the Aries energy, a beginning point. With Neptune conjunct Chiron, both in close sextile to the new moon we have the opportunity (sextile) to tap into the confusion (Neptune) and pain (Chiron) and allow ourselves to review, adapt and heal. Mercury will go retrograde (Rx) on 04/18/2010 signaling a time of analysis and review. What better time than to use this energy for the good of ourselves and others. This is a time for new beginnings, free from the fetters of the past. Analysis of that which we hid, jettisoning it as if it never occurred, facing and overcoming the issues we have are some of the options that open up to us. The Saturn opposition to Uranus occurs with Saturn in the 5th house and Uranus in the 11th. This is a retriggering of the New Moon energies of the 11th house. In between the New Moon and Mercury Rx, Venus will sextile Jupiter. The big focus has been on Venus and relationships over the last few months in the context of the outer planets call for clearing away those relationships and associations that are stale, that no longer work and forming newer relationships based on a stronger sense of self and self worth. Venus is in Taurus, which it rules. Jupiter is in Pisces which it is a co-ruler of with Neptune. This makes both planets strong and in their elements. The sextile represents the opportunity for them to work together. Since Jupiter puts an extreme emphasis on things, this could be a time for using the Mercury retrograde in Taurus to analyze these relationships that have been or have to be ended. Venus, ruler of Taurus and the 2nd house emphasizes the connection to values and self worth. Surprise! Surprise! Mercury goes Rx in the 5th house. A further connection to the New Moon and Saturn/Uranus cycles. How does intimacy, sex, creativity, and/or children factor into your issues? These are all highlighted. A balance of these issues with the 11th house, friends, associates, groups is in order all around. What creative projects or work do you need to do to express yourself? What outcome is needed to build your self worth? Finally, the Sun will sextile Neptune on 04/18/2010. The Sun will be in the 2nd house and Chiron is next to Neptune in the 12th house. The sense of self and your values have the opportunity to tap into your fears and hurts. How can you shine that light onto your inner self to unmask that which has been holding you back? In a nutshell? There are many things on the table now and it will only get messier as the month goes on. The current emphasis is a fresh start without the burdens of the past. Analyze and review your prior motivations and needs to see what is outdated, what no longer serves you. The 5th House/11th House axis is energized across the boards. It’s the Ego vs. Others. A balance of how you see yourself and how others see you is needed. A balance of how you see and interact with others relative to yourself is in question. There is a time to build your ego and a time to let it go in favor of the collective. These issues are formulating the events and issues that will be brought to light this Summer as the outer planets align across the Aries/Libra axis. New beginnings are afoot for all, will you be a decider of your destiny or will someone else decide for you? Will you need to decide with someone else? Now is a time where you can review honestly that which you have been trying to avoid. Take my advice, do it before it’s too late because the planets warn that you can’t hide for very much longer, that they will expose you if you don’t expose yourself. The Mercury Rx effect started at the entry into the shadow period on 04/02, takes full force as it goes Rx on 04/18, gives a sense of relief at the Inferior Conjunction on 04/28, starts to move forward at the Stationary Direct on 05/11 and finally the exit of the shadow period on 05/28 when new experiences begin again. Each of these dates will bring a revelation culminating in the end of May/beginning of June when the real fireworks kick off as Uranus moves into Aries on 05/27/2010. More new beginnings but real big ones. Now is the time to get your feet wet. Take that step now if you can but watch for confusion. Don’t psych your self out or beat yourself up. Those are just diversions, use the energy to build yourself up. You can talk yourself confident as easily as you talk yourself down. Be the new person you want to be and you will be that person. Hold onto your hats, it’s going to be a bumpy ride! This quote perfectly reflects the current times. We have fast moving Mercury, Venus, and Mars highlighted against the ongoing backdrop of slower moving Saturn and snail paced Pluto. The faster planets will bring the day to day events while the slower ones bring the longer term situations. We begin with Mercury entering the sign of earthy Taurus on 04/02/2010 where Mercury doesn’t always do well. Mercury, (representing ideas, thoughts, communications) likes to be free, to flit about and change but Taurus likes things stable, secure, and fixed. This will be a period of time where you may want to change topics and divert from the issues at hand but will find it more difficult to do. Mercury the trickster will have to stay around for the results this time. Before the week is over Mercury will square Mars and trine Pluto. As Mercury regularly aspects these planets this is business as usual except that Mercury will go Retrograde (Rx) on 04/18/2010. Hence, Mercury enters the shadow of the retrograde on 04/04/2010, the path that will be traveled over during the direct, retrograde and subsequent direct motion. This means that on 04/04 Mercury will cross the point where it will eventually turn Stationary Direct on 05/11/2010. Mercury Rx is a time where communications can be crossed, misunderstandings are highlighted, and generally, things don’t work out as planned. Here we have the influences starting that will be re-examined beginning with the Rx period and ending when Mercury exits the shadow on 05/28/2010. Keep track of the next few weeks, what are the situations and stimuli that are evident, what are those that are seeking light of day? Watch these as you form your ideas and opinion in the initial direct phase, watch as you re-evaluate and review these stimuli during the Rx phase and finally, watch as the kinks and issues work themselves out over the final direct phase. While all this is going on Venus is still very active as is it’s second house symbolism. The continued theme of jettisoning outdated and non-working relationships, values, and sense of self is still paramount. With Venus square (clashes with) Mars on 04/03/2010 and then trines (works well with) Pluto on 04/04/2010 Venus is having its say. Mars, the planet of action is kicking Venus in the shins saying, well are ya gonna? Well did ya? Well when are ya? The trine to Pluto is favorable and allows Pluto’s ability to change from the depths, to end one way and begin another to integrate into this impetuous for action. If you’ve been stalling, now is a time where it may be easier to carry out. Take advantage and get it off your chest before Mercury goes Rx. Mercury’s square to Mars on 04/05/2010 and then its trine to Pluto on 04/06/2010 remind us that Venus and Mercury have recently conjoined and are traveling close to each other and are experiencing these influences together. There is one important thing to keep in mind. It may feel like its all welling up and coming out but soon Mercury will change direction and head away from Venus, if you have something to say, either good or bad, get it done with while it’s favorable. Finally, Pluto will go Retrograde on 04/06/2010 and retrograde Saturn will re-enter Virgo for the last time on 04/07/2010 which will lead to its opposition to Uranus on 04/26/2010. Pluto spends almost half its time Rx so it’s a natural function of its energy. Both events occur with the planet in the second house of the Washington, DC chart emphasizing the issues of relationships, values, and self-worth. Quite a coincidence for our ongoing themes? In a Nutshell? A re-evaluation of the life changing events over the last year will be in focus. Issues of self worth and how we take our sense of self and values and use them to form ourselves and our interactions are on the line. Change is afoot, we can feel it, we can taste it, but change is scary. The Moon representing the public and our emotions are paramount here. All must have a say in the final decisions. Look to the New Moon on 04/14/2010 as the Lunations tend to trigger the relevant events. What has to go? What has to happen? How can you relate to others if you don’t relate to yourself? How can you treat others in ways you wouldn’t treat yourself? The coming Mercury and Pluto retrogrades will make this analysis deep and the upcoming Uranus and Jupiter transits into Aries will be the follow up triggers to kick it all in the rear and get it moving if you haven’t yet. Do you want to direct the flow of the energy to your liking while you can or do you want to get pushed in any old direction the universe feels like? Details: Click on the aspect for the chart.
